Basic Objectives
• Work closely with the team, developing their skills under suitable supervision to promote the quality and good reputation of Aanakaboot
• Understand the various facets of Rope Access techniques.
• Undergo the necessary training on Rope Access equipment and techniques and also in Quality, Health and safety, and Environmental procedures.

Quality, Safety, Health & Environmental Objectives:
• Ensure the Company and Customers QHSE policies, procedures, and Quality Plans are adhered to.
• Maintain an active role in the identification of opportunities for improvement in the company’s Quality,
Health & Safety and Environmental Systems and where relevant assist in the implementation of these
Improvements.
• Assist IRATA Level 2 and 3 (team leaders) in high angle jobs (or rescues, if a situation arises).
• Avoid at all cost, to harm yourself and others.
• Utilise/wear all issued PPE in the correct manner.

Main Responsibilities:
• Lead by example regarding safe practices
• Ensure all work is done in accordance with IRATA ACOP and Avalon Rope access procedures
• Ensure that daily toolbox talk takes place and signed by all employees
• Ensure that any new or unforeseen hazards are identified and recorded
• Enforce a pre job inspection of all relevant equipment
• Inspect all rigging prior to use
• Enforce a “Buddy check”
• Ensure all relevant PPE are being used
• Enforce general housekeeping
• Phone or text line manager before leaving site
• Ensure that site is safe and secure and all equipment are locked away
• Ensure quality in workmanship
• Be familiar with basic rescue techniques such as simple descents and hauling rescues.
• Able to assist in rigging and non-standard operations, under the guidance of RA Team Leader.
• Able to undertake a rescue involving a decent by himself and have knowledge of hauling systems.
• Perform the Rope Access activities as per the instructions of Supervisor/ Lead technician.
