Basic Objectives:
• To liaise closely with the Project Manager and Health and Safety Manager in all respects and be able to prepare written documentation to support project delivery.
• Ensure that all team members submit accurate weekly records to track and monitor kit and attendance
• To liaise with coordinators/ client representatives and understand the scope of work for each task assigned.
• Perform work as per client and statutory requirements and prepare site draft and assist in preparing final reports.
• To conduct toolbox talk before the start of each job or if there is any change of activity.
Quality, Safety, Health & Environmental Objectives:
• Ensure company QHSE procedures, instructions and safety and environmental standards are understood and complied with at all times.
• Maintain an active role in the identification of opportunities for improvement in the company’s Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental Systems and where relevant assist in the implementation of these improvements.
• To plan and delegate high angle jobs (or rescues in emergency situations).
• Report Near Miss/ Incidents to the QHSE Engineer immediately on occurrence.
• Coordinate with Ware house to arrange necessary rescue equipment’s and first-aid kit(s) before the start of work.
• Prepare, plan and train all RATS, with techniques and procedures to avoid harming the employees themselves and others.
• Must ensure that all personnel on site should wear appropriate PPE at all times.
• Equipment is maintained in accordance with the company’s QHSE standards and defects are identified and follow up action initiated to repair, replace or withdraw defective equipment from service.
Main Responsibilities:
• Ensure that all employees read, understand and sign the method statement and risk assessment
• Ensure the site is set up in a safe and secure manner
• Ensure that all relevant materials and equipment are on site and inform line manager if not, or “running low”
• Ensure that any missing or damaged equipment must be reported asap.
• Ensure the safe keeping and whereabouts of keys and equipment
• Inform line manager of any employees not present due to illness
• Ensure that a Daily Log is kept
• Team time sheets are filled out for each job and forwarded to the office
• Ensure the installation of our company banner on each building, on the first day of the job, and removal of it at the last day of work.
• Ensure the Rope Access Kit general inspection and manifest completion on the last day of each project
• Reporting to Project Managers.
• Liaise and attend meetings with coordinators and clients representatives to discuss and understand the scope of work including statutory requirements and perform accordingly.
• To plan recues using different techniques: He shall be responsible for assessing team safety, assess the first-aid requirements of the causality, and shall initiate the rescue, if safe to do so.
• To be proficient with basic and advanced rescue techniques such as chest ascender mid-rope rescue, basic haul, cross haul rescue, long rope transfer rescue and aid climb rescue.
• Coordinate with the company to arrange necessary equipment to carry out the scope of work without causing delays.
• Coordinate with the ‘Transport Coordinator’ for adequate transportation arrangements.
• Report to the jobsite 15 minutes before the shift start time. Organise team members, explain about the scope of work and conduct toolbox talk.
• Assign the job requirements amongst team members and ensure completion as per the scope of work.
• Getting Final Acceptance Certificates and time sheets of assigned jobs from client as per company policy.
• To sign the job card of each technician on daily basis.
• To maintain the project time sheet and submit to accounts department during job completion.
• Guide the Level 1 to make team effort and carry out work in a safe and efficient manner.
• Assist in performing periodic evaluations of subordinates and recommend and implement discipline as required.
• Ensure that the workplace is kept tidy during and after each shift.
• Ensure that all tools, equipment and materials are taken from the site and returned to the company warehouse/ equipment supplier.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
• Technical Trade Certification- ITI
• IRATA L3 Certification with 4 years experience or 7 years equivalent experience in NDE/ Rope Access/ Welding/ Painting field as an added plus.
• Should have excellent supervisory and negotiation skills.
• Must be able to demonstrate extremely good skills in Rope Access techniques and demonstrate adequate safety awareness at all times.
• Must have good communication skills
• Fluent English language
